The Enclave Reading Series has been active in downtown New York for almost eight years. The aim of the series is to present authors and performers who take risks in their work, either formally or in their approach to subject. We celebrate and promote the work of both established and emerging authors whose work is intelligent, fearless, and challenging. Past readers include Penny Arcade, Gary Indiana, John Giorno, Wayne Koestenbaum, Eileen Myles, Bruce Benderson, Lynne Tillman, Michael Cunningham, Abdellah Taia, Laurie Weeks, and Karen Finley. It has also curated off-site events at BAM and at Mattachine (featuring John Cameron Mitchell and Parker Posey).
