{La Zona : La Trilogía}
The Zona trilogy explores the Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo through literary, photographic and performative lenses. The trilogy also engages with the legacies of colonialism and its aftermaths through a multi-year (multi-decade, really), extremely focused (and unsettling) examination of an iconic site of encounters between peoples and destinies. It is also, in many ways, a study of how to tell of, how to render, how to represent, any one place, any one space, while taking into account the layers of historical formations, the angles of perception, the possible medialities and lenses at play, and, ultimately, the creation of reality: a deep study, a case-study, a deep dig, synchronic and diachronic, disciplinary, multi-, neo- and post-disciplinary, and cross-spatial and multi-dimensional, into what it means to render, understand, depict, represent, real-ize, any one place/space.,
{frst rvlt}–author’s cut (Text/Twine Variations) + {frst rvlt} (Perf/Play Variations)
In {frst rvlt}, unknown and ignored figures of history have been imagined, real figures have been enlivened in fictional, sur- and super-real contexts to shed light on an episode about which there is very little information. The blend of imaginary expansions, polemical interventions, performative innovations, and radical formal inventions is a necessity leading to a new type of work with two very different iterations: the performative event, and the poetic/narrative text (the author’s final cut) finalized in Twine: a theoretico-poetic docu-fiction—or a long theoretico-fictional docu-poem that could be thought of as a libretto for en epic song.
{Zona | Still}

A photo-textual epic constructed through more than two dozen chapters and various clusters, {Zona | Still} engenders various explorations of photographic language and practice AND different modalities of presentation, exhibition, installation and performance. The chapters are conceived and carried out through axes that can be stylistic (BW, slightly out of focus strand), thematic (La Esquina (the Corner)), and/or formalistic (a photo-textual installation, a digital stream)–but always focused on a very deep and narrow unearthing of the Zona Colonial. For group or solo exhibitions, the ultimate selection of particular images or compositions are based on the allotted space and the overall vision. Work shown can be a small part of a chapter, a full chapter, or a cluster that brings different together components of chapters together in a unique and singular conglomeration–from large prints to salon-style hangs to photo-installations and performances.

A poetic novel, structured around multiple narratives, telling of the appearance, wandering, and ultimately seeming suicide of a mysterious poet in the zona colonial.
