Part of the projects in creating partnerships with community organizations and a meaningful and impactful programming that was founded on reciprocity and mutual reflection, the ALM (Art, Literature and Museums) initiatives happened in the context of the MoMA Community Programs that I coordinated and under whose auspices I fashioned many new initiatives and partnerships.
The ALMs did not constitute and ongoing or fixed type of object, experience or even project, but emerged and would take place in conjunction with various partner organizations and/or their constituents. Occurring episodically between late 2004 and spring 2007, they allowed workshops, debates and discussions, explorations and all sorts of funky play with literature, art, and how museums can be involved in education along those lines.
