Round-Rug Repartees. This was the alternative title for chats, charlitas, interviews, pow-wows, and the rest… I kept having some really good convos with all sorts of folks, all over the place, independent of background, experience, positions, language etc… Really fascinating shit, or just cool chatter, or just hilarious. The writer in me is/was always rerouting, redirecting this ‘material’ into ‘works’, but some of the exchanges were totally fab in their raw state, in their untouched state. Besides, having them ‘on’ didn’t eliminate their being also material for work. And, truth is, a/Everyone loves to read interviews and interactions and b/the dialogue is a long-forgotten literary form indeed. The coolest thing about these convos is how the invitation to the folks to be part is really a breeze and cool when we already get along, and but also cool in how it disarms those who might actually disagree with your (my) positions. And how the relationship changes when one does that. So, let’s think of these, whether in video footage, only audio, or text as alternative types of — I’m also tempted to replace these in all the other sections – artworks, litworld, as a design concept… Real tempted, and, in fact, some fall under those already (the convos with Hamid, for example…)
